Response to "assassination"

It is sorrowful to hear about the devastating attack on Hitler and his advisers. IF Hitler is dead then some one must pick up the position of the chancellor and continue the march for glory.

Responce to war update

I applaud the young American boys and what they have accomplished at Guadalcanal! They are fierce young men that love their country, and want to fight for it. They are very patriotic. I'm very proud! They are slowly creeping up on them japs. And on the other side sneaking up on the back of the Nazi's.

I told you all that the soviets would find their way out of the predicament they were in, with very unnecessary pressure from the clueless Nazi's. Why would they ever break their alliance from the now re-grouped, and powerful soviets. Who have crawled out of the gutter, and once again have beefed up. I also have to say the desert fox has his tail between its legs and has been trampled by the allies. HA, so much for confident strong Nazi general!(more like desert possum)

To tell you the truth I'm hoping that terrible Hitler, and his mustache are goan. He has goan way too far! And the Allies are doing something quickly about it.

Response to Editiorial #4

I TeddE Gram believe it could be difficult to go straight into the German forces, but where will the world be if someone does not do it. There are many cases where people may die or become injured in this act, but it could help my country and the Allied forces. Lets have a cup of tea, while weakening the German forces, which will be easy because all the Allied forces will and must work together. The Atlantic wall may be difficult to "crack" but it will make history if someone does. If we do not "beat around the bush" the bush will become bigger or smaller if the Allies come to this destination. Even if we have to do it alone it might still make a difference or have a victory or win of some sort.
I dream of the day of peace and war to be over! This mess can be so scaring to see and will change my life forever to come.

Response to Editorial #4

The Allied powers are of course doing something that will make history. No one else is strong enough to even stand to the Nazis. they will fight not only for themselves but for the rest of Europe that is under the Nazi control, the Jews especially. Germany doesn't know the devastation it is putting under everyone in the WORLD. The British and the Americans are doing the world a favor; a favor that will make Germany think about what they've done to us.
-chirpchirpbirdie

Response to Editorial #3

Well to me this is another dreadful attack on the world. Hitler is defiantly going to occupy the world with his "perfect race". Right now i am speechless, i cannot wrap my head around all the attacks Germany has accomplished. The next roll of the die would seem to be another successful attack, but with some devastation from the German troops and leaders. The world isnt doing a good job at defending themselves; i cannot say i blame them because Germany is a ruthless, careless, and selfish country that only cares about total domination.

Responce to the news update!

Why? Why does war even exist? I know that evil Hitler is trying to take over the whole of Europe and eventually the whole world. I can't believe that man!!! Why? Why? Why? I hate everything about him!!! I dislike the way he is treating innocent civilians, the way he treats his fighting men. But the thing I hate the most is that ugly paste on mustache! I mean shave it off, Really!
Why should America go to war when it has nothing to do with us? Why is the president sending off thousands of young men to go fight against something that has nothing to do with the U.S? It's not fair! If the world wants to go to war, they can go right ahead. That doesn't mean that all of the nations able men has to go along with the crowd.
All war is bad. Why can't the world be at peace? It seams every time I turn around there is more news about war. War is the stupidest idea EVER!!!

June 1943 – Daily Mirror News Update

Turning points have embroiled the Globe.

The shadow of Axis power that seemed to crawl across the world uncontested is finally shrinking. In January, the Soviet Union was able to finally push the Germans back and reclaim their own city of Stalingrad. Hundreds of thousands of civilians were killed in the siege. While all the Soviets have reclaimed is only now a pile of rubble, ash, and dead loved ones, they have been able to guarantee for the moment that the Nazis will not inch towards their claim to living space in Russia.

Meanwhile, the United States has finally crawled through the grass and maze of Jungle at Guadalcanal. The Americans were sleeping in the mud for months on end and being ambushed from every corner of jungle by banzai chargers. General Douglas MacArthur finally has some degree of retribution for the death marches of Bataan in the Pacific.

Weeks ago, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Winston Churchill met at the Trident Conference. A main topic that was being discussed was the prospective invasion by allied powers of German occupied France. FDR and Churchill have instead elected to invade Italy in its place. Will we ever see a proper go at the Atlantic Wall or will it forever be that unwanted pink elephant in the room? The allies are realizing that even though they have pushed Rommel out of the desert, they will have to pull every inch of German occupied Europe out of the cold , dead fingers of every soldier in their path. It will be a long time before we seen American and British boys heading home.

Editorial 4 Rep.

This is a good idea for our front in Europe! There are a few problems though. Getting to the underbelly will be a challenge, because we have never fought in desert conditions. You can name any type of environment you want, but never desert warfare. Germany may not have much expertise either, but it will be a harsh and deadly battle, hopefully not in vain. Island hopping, Deserts, Paratroopers. What else could possibly be new in this war? Overall, i think this is a good strategy, it would be to much of a challenge to attack Germany head on.

Response to Editorial #4

I think the allies need to toughen up and not be cowards anymore. The way we have been fighting is obviously not productive enough. The small things that we do to stop them do not add up into one big . . . stopping of the Nazi's. I think the allies should go through with attacking the Atlantic wall; everything else would not be as productive. If we fight the against the Germans along with the Soviet Union we could literally squeeze them back into their own land and keep the Nazi’s from taking over the entire population of Europe and being able to move on to the Americans. And if this recent news about Hitler being assassinated is true, we still have the Nazi’s to worry about. One person gone does not mean an entire war ended. They will not stop. They will find a new leader and keep going. This war cannot be easy to end, the process will be long and hard I believe we can do it with more courage.

Response to editorial 4

I don't think it is a complete waste of what our men are doing now in the desert. At least we they're trying, but I do believe there are other ways that could be more effective. I think the Atlantic wall could be a good plan if it was well planned out, because if it isn't we are just sending more men to their deaths and gaining no ground against Germany.

I must say that i have experienced the devastation of war. Men are wounded, dying, and many are already dead, but what upsets me most about this is why someone would kill others just to gain greater power. I just don't understand it. Hitler is a sick man who is making some of the worst decisions in history. And all for what? more land and a perfect society. Why would anyone want to be the one responsible for this. I know that I for sure wouldn't. I wouldn't want to live with the guilt everyday of my life. Again I pray that this will all be over soon, especially for all those countries Hitler has taken down and are being tortured.

okay well it didnt work did it? that would be tragic. let us all pray for the Furher's survival in this sinful crime against him. long live the Third Reich. please let us find and kill whomever has done this.

Oh Boy

Oh my goodness! I did not see that one coming! Has anyone heard who attempted the assassination?

URGENT

We have just received word that there was a massive explosion during a Nazi conference at the Reichstag. Hitler and his top advisors were at the meeting. It appears as though there has been a successful assassination attempt on the life of Adolf Hitler. This may be the end of the Third Reich!

Chairs R. Cool...

Chairs,
In war you have to accept that you are already dead. You just hope for the best and follow orders.
-spotandscruffy

in reply to the editorial

I understand the longing the British and Americans have to attack Germany they have every right to that want. But is the desert the right place to fight the Germans? I think not. We do need to strike where it matters, the Atlantic wall or even the heart of Germany. Nothing can run without a heart, and everything that lives, every living being has a heart. This mass of living beings includes the people of Germany. If we were to strike at the heart the people of Germany would no longer want to have a part in the war. They would be so devastated they would only want to keep their country form entering a deeper state of depression. So if any person were to have me make the actual battle plans, we would bomb the heart of Germany. We would bomb Berlin. It would be payback for the damage the Nazi's did to Poland, Britain, France and every other country the have destroyed. I along with my country can only pray the war will end.

I'm Sorry, Bethehammer

I'm sorry you and your people have to go through this, Bethehammer. If I were in that situation, I would just sit tight, because this war is bloody enough and this is only the middle part of the story.

Response to New Events

Booboorob - I hear your noise! However, my people are in dire need for the German lines to be distracted, if only for a moment. We are living underground, my family dead, my home vaporized by Nazi shells, and any recollection of my old life seems like a distant and fading dream. We are living on bread made of paper paste and I spend every day listening to bullets cracking by my head and shells scream as they fall for their next target. For me, this long-overdue answer to my prayers is more than welcome.

Do the Americans and British seem to stand a chance in the desert against Rommel? I sincerely doubt it. This is a man who knows the desert and any terrain for that matter, like the back of his hand. Whereas the Americans and Brits have little or no experience using armor in the desert.

Right now, my people are fighting for their existence and this is the one single answer that we have witnessed on a global scale that can even resemble a reasonable answer to Nazi expansion. Praise be to God!

Luncheon Changed!

Luncheon rescheduled--meet at locker #180 on thursday april 29th at 3:00. Don't be late!

-Phil Frink

Totally Lost It

Those British and Americans are totally foolish. I mean, really? Sure, attacking the Germans in the desert can get us through Itlay, breaking their advance, but still, they've totally lost it. The stronghold we really need to break is the Atlantic Wall, just as the Daily Mirror said. I scorn the British for being such fools.

And another thing, if the Americans take down the Atlantic Wall, that would be a good decoy to the Germans for the Allies to move in. We could surprise attack them! Which, comrades, is exaclty why we shouldn't move through the desert. If Italy finds out, they could tell Germany to be on gaurd, and that would not be a good vantage point to triumph over them. Shame on the British and Americans!

Resopnse to editorial number 4

Ha! I laugh at that feeble attempt to break down the German forces. The Allies thought they could defeat Germany with an attack like that!? Of course Germany is going to fight back and of course they are going to put up a great fight. As for the question, this was a pointless venture. Germany will never fall… especially to that sad excuse for an attack. But I say let them waste their time. Let them “beat around the bush.” Let the Americans and British waste their men and materials. Because you know what, it will just give the Furher a chance to retaliate and crush them! Both the United States’ forces and the British forces are nothing but weak, lazy fools who have no experience fighting off such a noble force. It won’t be long now… soon everyone will be under the control of the Furher.

Editorial #4 America and Britain - On Target or Missing the Point?

May - 1943

In November, the Allied Powers including the United States and France attacked areas in Northern Africa containing both Germany’s AfrikaKorps and troops of Vichy France – those French who decided to sign armistice and “ally” with Germany after France was occupied by the Germans. When the British and Americans encountered the French, there was little to write home about. However, the Germans soon put up a massive fighting force against the allies at locations such as Kasserine Pass. Apparently, the goal is for these allied nations to puncture the “soft underbelly” of Europe to establish a stronghold and begin charging at Nazi Germany’s “empire".

The Daily Mirror’s question is this – Is this operation the be-all/end-all of operations or will it prove to be a pointless venture for the United States and Britain. Our stance is that the allies should not waste time trying to “beat around the bush” of Nazi occupied territory. We need to strike where it matters! - The Atlantic Wall. Our Prime Minister scoffs at the idea and says it’s too risky. Then what, in the name of all things sacred, are we doing having a go at the Germans in the desert?! Why does it even matter? My loyal readers, I want to hear your take!

Are the Allies doing something worthwhile or it is a waste of men and material?

Spot!!!

Would you rather be guaranteed to die on foot or have some chance of living in a plane?

Chairs R. Cool...

Chairs,
Planes are very dangerous and I recognize that you stated that but it is not safer than on foot. German Flak 88s tear planes to shreds with the men in them, So I advise you not to put men on planes, you put yourself at the mercy of the flak.

#3, The Next Role

Ladies and Gentlemen,
We have thousands, maybe even millions of young men fighting for something that can not easily be stopped. It is not right that Hitler and his evil army are bombing England, we have to at least try stop them. Instead of sending thousands of young men to stop this man, we should compromise and send out hate letters or something. just kidding. We should call all men back home and wait. I think that our men would feel better if they were fighting at home. We should wait until the Germans are caught off guard, then send several bomber planes and bomb them big time. That way we have all of our young men that are fighting safely in planes. Now I'm not saying that planes are safe, I'm saying that you have a better chance of surviving an attack than you would running on foot.

But get real! Major bombing isn't going to happen ant time soon so all I can do is wait and read the news. Wait for all of our young men to hopefully return safely.

-chairs

Shelwin...

Shelwin,
How could have America seen the attack on them coming? The Japanese were acting very peaceful before the attack making it difficult to know that they would attack Pearl Harbor. Another thing, the French just can't go back to France to fight the Germans because the Germans have fortified the beach head defenses by now. The French are waiting for you to put a plan into action.
-spotandscruffy
OH boy... The Axis powers better watch out now! You have woken up the giant sleeping beast of America! They will truly, and quickly take you out now! I have to say it was very stupid of those pesky japs to attack Pearl Harbor. You have now brought the war on their soil and will surley be punished! You fools... Thinking Americans cannot fight! How ever my leaders want me to do it i will take the live of any worthless Jap out there. They already have goan too far!

I believe Hitler was very childish for breaking the alliance with the Soviets. Now he has two big dogs gunnin for him! He can try to hold the soviets in their own streets, but soon they will re-group, and bit them right back... I now question Hitlers decisions. He already has 90% of Europe, and still wants to make others mad and attack them and go for more! I believe history will repeat its self. 10 years from now Germany will be in another depression, embarrassed and wondering what to do next.

Response to editorial 3

It is horrible to know that war is all through Europe. It is hard because now I am helping my own countries people. Blitzkrieg is such a deadly and disastrous time. Definitely a scary and deadly place I would not want to go to. Innocent people are killed daily, with absolutely no choice, because Blitzkrieg only stops for innocent kittens not family's who might never be together again. Germany should be seeing more blood, but of only its own human kind.

Hitler may be going a step further, but will he keep going? I am not sure if other countries are ready for Hitler, but they should start getting ready for mine!

The League of Nations should step it up, I am ready for it. Do not let Germany step on you. You are strong, but are all nation's ready for what is coming? Germany should be scared, we are ready for action!! Try to stop us because I believe we are unstoppable!!

Japan Attacks America

Japan Attacking America, no surprise. Japan successfully attacking America, wow. America should have seen this coming. They clearly opposed Japan mercilessly killing and torturing people. and in these turbulent time that we live in no country can remain out of war forever.

I’ve been far too busy to chat recently but I managed to find some time in order to speak with all of you. We thought that we would be safe; we thought that Germany would stop at Poland or Czechoslovakia, this is not true. No Poland is under Germany's control as is Czechoslovakia, France and most of Europe. French forces have been forced to retreat to London but even here they are not safe. The German Bombers constantly rain terror from the skies.

Now whatever remains of the French Army is here in the United Kingdom or some other country while Germany is parading through France. Something must be done about this. The French Forces should be fighting in France not waiting out the war in some other land. And it sickens me that I can not be on the front lines with my men when instead I’m in some office creating plans about what to do next.

We all know what has become of the Polish uniforms now. They were being worn by Germans in order to make the Poles seem like the bad guys. Firing at the German Army. You have to feel sorry for Poland though, with Russia on one side and Germany on the other, they never stood a chance. Whereas France could have put and England could have put up a larger defense at the Maginot Line it doesn’t matter now, France is gone. Meanwhile America is still not in the war. The world is changing into something else, something unrecognizable. A place were innocent countries are taken over just like the way ancient empires concurred land. WW1 was supposed to be the last conquest by any country but that is clearly false.

Sincerely
Shelwin Brown

Responce to war update

Britian was devestated. their cities are in ruins. it's no surprise that they want revenge on germany. attacking the german fleets in africa is a brilliant idea, with the wars in russia, and most german fleets off in france, the germans wont know what hit them. i predict a quick victory in africa, then an easy advance through italy, then we will have the germans surrounded in berlin, and the war will be over!

Responses to updates on attacks and missing citizens

I find that Hitler's plans are very scattered. He's trying to attack too many places at once and this could cost him later. He's gotten himself and his troops deep in the pit of war and I can't say that I think he will come out victorious. His involvement with the Soviets and Africa is just too much for him, in my opinion. With all the scary events going on in the world I think staying positive and having hope at this point that the Allied troops will hold out in the battle against Hitler is all we can do right now. We can pray that our troops will come out of this war victorious and with more pride for defeating Japan and Germany.

In response to the missing citizens of Germany, I don't know why people like Jews and writers are missing, but it is very weird and random. Why these people? Why now? My gut tells me that it has something to do with Adolf Hitler, but it's probably nothing. We should still keep a close eye on this though just in case...

Booboo Rob - I both agree and disagree with you. I agree that men will die going against Hitler and it's scary to think how many may die before he is stopped or if he is stopped. But someone needs to step up and challenge Hitler or else he may not stop until he controls the whole world. If we work together we may have a chance at stopping him and his army. So I am just saying to keep an open mind to the idea of maybe helping other countries in an attempt to stop this war before we suffer more deaths because we did not react right away.

reply to editorial

In my opinion the british have every right to be mad at hitler. They have just suffered great deal. Many of their freinds have just died. Their country is now in ruins and they are striving for food and shelter. They may want revenge but will it come? It might it might not, it all depends on what Britian decides to do about the war going on all around them.

As for the Americans in Africa, kudos to them. They are entering the war and fighting for what they believe in. It is a good thing they are fighting fire with fire. And right now fire is all they can afford. The one problem i have is with the french fighting with the germans? I thought they were against. Well either I have my facts messed up or France needs to make up their mind as to what side to fight for.

Again Kudos to America and i sure hope that britian can pull out of the reckage and step up to fight. And a final word about France, Make up your mind people, seriously.

Response to the Update

Editor,
Yanks in the Desert?!? I laugh at the thought. They will die of dehydration before they can even kill a Frenchman! The Americans are a mockery to desert warfare, they don't even deserve to be in the presence of the French! That is how weak they are. If they struggle with the French, then how do they expect to go to battle with the battle hardened AfrikaKorps? Germany will eventually crush them. However, I do believe that the Yanks will succeed at some point in this whole bloody war. I am sure it will be small though. The blood of the Yanks will be splattered in the African sand. A quick offensive against the Americans will surely crush them. Switching topics, The attack on Russia, to me, seems to be a mistake. Hitler should of finished off Britain first before invading one of the largest countries in the world.
-spotandscruffy

In Response to my last nervous breakdown...

Okay, I really don't think anyone should try to go against Hitler. Because if you do, you're dead in the water. I know i won't. We're just sending us and our men to their deaths! It's suicide!

Set it off! Now is the time to make an attempt on the life of Adolf Hitler. Will someone strike?

The Daily Mirror - War Update - November 1942

America is moving. We are seeing the first response to Nazi Aggression since 1939. Yesterday, November 8th, British and American soldiers stormed the beaches of North Africa in Algiers. It was one of the first amphibious invasions focusing on being the first “crack” at German occupied territory. Americans were shocked to actually first see French soldiers who are fighting with the Germans under Vichy France – a group that signed an armistice with Germany when Northern France was taken.

Right now, British and American soldiers are trying to see if Vichy France’s troops will fire upon our allies in German held North Africa. The British and American soldiers targeted three major beach landings with very few casualties.

Now, the Americans under General Patton are facing off against the Germans and their legendary Erwin Rommel who has a dramatically advantageous understanding of desert combat over the Americans. It will be mere moments before the Americans and British collide for the first time with the Germans in the North African desert. The weight of the world is on their shoulders.

Meanwhile, Britain is still picking up the ashes of their own country after being bombed mercilessly for months on end. British civilian deaths were horrific and the British nation is calling for revenge.

In the East, the Germans are trying to gain what they call Lebenstraum or “living space” by pushing against the Soviet Armies in Stalingrad. Blood is flowing through the streets on both sides as the Russians are frantically trying to reinforce their armies and are sending wave upon wave against German machine gunners. The youth of the Red Army are being cut to bits by the Nazi Killing Machine.

In the Pacific, Americans are approaching a small island in Polynesia – Guadalcanal. This objective seems to be fairly non-threatening, but Americans will find out soon as they begin silent marches through the jungles of the island waiting to find the Japanese. The Americans are officially trying to “island hop” their way back across the Pacific Ocean to keep Imperialist Japan at bay.

The war is intensifying and spreading like a virus.

ODD...

We are gathering scattered reports regarding citizens in German occupied territory who are missing from their homes. Many of these individuals, interestingly enough, seem to be musicians, writers, artists... Jews.

We do not have enough information to currently piece together a cohesive report.

Scruffy. . .

Spot and Scruffy,

Hitler does make mistakes and he is making one by trying to take Europe entirely. But it will never happen. So tell him to make a smaller mistake so he doesn't ruin his country. I'm sure Germany doesn't want depression, again.

Response to Editorial #3

Those monsters! The Germans fake Polish officers attacking their men, just so they can invade! And, just so the USSR doesn’t get nervous from Hitler’s closeness, Hitler allies with them! Germany must want or need war if they are attacking Poland. Both England and France are sworn to protect Poland, so now, war is inevitable. Hitler has been growing his military for a while now, so there is a quite strong chance they could win against both France and Britain and their crazy Great War weapons. The USSR has also been quiet for a while, so they must want some more space, after all, most of their country is a wasteland. Yet, Hitler must be itching for his war, because he has been suicidal! Poland is protected by two world superpowers! Who just humiliated Germany! This is not smart on his part. He should not do this. It will result in millions of deaths and a large amount of destruction! Just stop Hitler. If war results, I fear all countries will have to unite to defeat Hitler.

Response to Editorial #2

Japan is a villain. What they are doing is a mirror of the rumors of what Germany is doing to the Jews. They are mercilessly killing hundreds of chinese people in the streets because it is "honorable!" When did senseless murder become "honor?" It is wrong. They see these people as abominations because they surrender. For the Japs it is victory or death! In time these murderers may see their errors and repent, but right now they are monsters! They keep killing. As the LORD said, "Thou shalt not kill." The Japanese are killing and destroying children, men, and women. When will it stop? No one needs to die, and no one needs to kill. So why then, why, does humanity keep killing? Is it a need, a want, a desire to satisfy a thrill? The Japs need to stop! America should also do something! Europe too! Even if they are preoccupied with Hitler they should try!

oops!

Hitler is a nut. He's taken half of europe. france was taken in a mere 6 weeks. I knew our ignorance would result in such a serious conciquence. He may have taken most of europe as fast as he did but something tells me the british people will hold their ground. There is no way Hitler can manage these air-attacks on london and the war in the european countries as well. Britian is taking pilots from america, and these men and very brave. already the british fliers have shown what they can do. Yes, they are out numbered but they are strong enough to defeat the germans. they will hold their ground. and they are detremined to never quit.

Response to Editorial #3 and current issues

I suppose we should have seen this all coming based upon recent events.

At first, German policy towards a weak Europe seemed to offer the first source of true strength that we've seen since the times of the old emperors.

America, the Soviets, Japan, Germany, England, Italy, and France are now all at war. The Soviets have been backstabbed by a sham non-aggression pact that only used Soviet strength and numbers to accomplish Nazi plans. The Soviets were used as tools. Now, our people fight on the brink of destruction from the windows and cellars of their own homes. I do believe that Japan has disturbed a sleeping giant in attacking America. They have the support of their larger and more powerful Nazi counterpart, but they lack crucial resources to fuel a war against a nation capable of nearly infinite growth. Unless Germany is capable of using their Blue Water Navy against the United States from the Atlantic theater soon, America will drive Japan out of their pacific islands and Japan will be a nation that pays dearly. They were a nation waiting for the spoils of World War I and have now become a bit too big for their britches.

SpotandScruffy - you have given me reason to believe that you would follow anything powerful to accomplish any means - do you know what you are? Hypnotized by German Policy.

Picabo - You don't fear debate and yet you attack petty issues like a cornered beast. I am wondering if you are an operative that is not worthy of trust.

Tinkerbell - you concern me most of all - like a quiet predator - keep an eye on Tinkerbell!

Editor - How can any power other than Germany proclaim that blood will be spilled? Germany is the only nation doing the spilling and that has led me to believe that we might encounter an entire shift in the world as we know it!
It has now been made obvious, the japenese dont like the us. America is now a part of the european war.
Also we need to be aware of the notorious bahamma mamma.

URGENT UPDATE - The Daily Mirror

Editorial 3 response

Once again, the doughboys are obviously way out of line and cannot seem to notice that Germany is easily plowing through Europe. Germany has proved it self to be the most technilogicaly advanced country in this war so far. They should probably be the least because they were in such a deep hole after the Great War, however, under the German Third Reich, Hitler and the Nazis have once again proven themselves to be one of the most powerful nations in the world. America better wake up soon, or Germany could win this war before you can count to ten. America's failures have made it hard for other countries to fight. America cannot, and will not stay neutral forever; they must come out and fight, or just think of themselves as lazy doughnuts!

Picabo...

Picabo,
I am just stating that your answer to my question was funny. Hitler is not evil, like any leader he makes mistakes. One of his mistakes would be not invading Great Britain and instead just using air power.

response to edtorial number 3

If anyone seriously thought that the Furher would stop at just Czech or Poland they were obviously not thinking clearly. The process of restoring the ancient borders of the Reichland will, of course, continue. The Furher is a righteous leader who will stop at nothing to provide for his country.

The author of this article says “Our world is on fire. Germany there will be blood”. Germany is by far the strongest world power ever known to man. The German Fatherland is the center of civilization; Berlin is the capital of the world. Britain and France are stepping stones in our way to victory. The German people are the strongest race and anyone who tries to stand in our way will without a doubt be destroyed.

Let the fat, sleepy, lazy “doughboys” sleep awhile longer. America is a young country; a mere child among nations. I’m sure when their time comes, they will be destroyed too. No one can defeat the Furher.

Great. I would ask:What do the Nazi's want? but that question has practically been answered. They want to literally take over Europe and will possibly run in to the "dough boys" out west. They have gone too far and I'm not gonna sit here and do nothing. I have a feeling that Hitler wants war. He didn't get it from Poland so he is going to move on until he pulls everyone in. The League of Nations really was a bad idea. It wants peace and it will fight to get it? That really doesn't make any sense. Now that Europe is in general war we must protect ourselves and our countries. I will try my best to stop this war and give people information on how to do it as well. Now I must try a lot harder to do it, but I will never give up until I am in a Nazi work camp.

Scruffy. . .

Spot and Scruffy,

Fine, Germany and Hitler are evil, telling people to do to terrible things ( a.k.a. Blitzkrieg) .  I said: a sharpened pencil can be a threat, not a very big one but it is.  and really? Just shut up a bout the pencil thing, you know what I meant.

Responce to editorial #3

I knew it was to come... Germany has started another war. They have forced the French out of their own homes and made them literally swim for their lives to England. I now think what my country leaders are thinking about after this. I no they fear the idea of WW1, and definitely do not want to start another one. Buy that is what might happen if too many countries do jump into this.
Regardless of their decisions i will support them. The men leading my country know what they are doing!
We all must remember the last time Europe called America "dough Boys". They went into Europe and embarrassed the central powers(Germany). And i believe if they do join in they will repeat history. And trust me the Americans aren't just sitting back... You also thought that last time too... and well you got embarrassed. We will have to see what happens, but this is my prediction.

Picabo...

Picabo,
Killing innocent people is questionable, but blitzkrieg is not. It is a proven tactic that blunders the enemy and insures (most of the time) a victory. So stop calling it evil. You can call Germany and Hitler evil if you want but not Blitzkrieg. The people kill people, tactics don't. By the way, My question was: can this pencil ruin a country? Your response: A sharp pencil can be a threat. That answer, if read correctly, sounds like a direct answer to the question. So therefore you said that a pencil can ruin a country.
-spotandscruffy

Scruffy little Spot. . . :P

Spot and Scruffy,

Thats not what i said, and admit  that blitzkrieg is not the right thing to do. It is killing millions of innocent people that do not deserve to be killed. No matter what Hitler says.

You asked: can a pencil bring economic ruin and civil war to a country? my response: a sharp pencil is a threat, but not one that can bring a country into ruin.

re-read the post.

It is very possible America is biding its time. They may end up steping forth and putting an effort into this European war. Yet it is a European war and America probably doesn't feel the same threat that Europe does. It has not yet been made Americas problem.
And if Germany is on the move then the allies better get there acts together and stop Hitler from taking over the world.
As for poor Britian, France and the other allied powers, at this point they, and we along with them, can pray that Germany is defeated.

response to the war...

Editor,
Now we all see Germany's resolve. It is too late to form a defense. Europe is in the hands of Germany. Great Britain will soon join its fallen comrades. This is what happens when people are stubborn and don't give in, blood shed. America sees no need to get involved because they want to commit weapons and supplies not troops. America is aware of the conflict but doesn't want to join in. Who would want war? America should stay out and save themselves from shame and destruction. The invasion of France went well, the French and British were shamefully pushed back out of Dunkirk, leaving supplies behind. Great Britain can be "softened"up by the Luftwaffe but a direct assault from the army will make that sorry excuse of a Prime Minister surrender. Hitler thinks he can take England with air power, you can't without some sort of ground power. I hope this works.
-spotandscruffy

response to the war...

Editorial #3 - From One Nightmare to Another - October_1941

We live in a world that it was thought inconceivable to start another general war in Europe after the crisis of 1914. We now find Europe in a state of general war. The world held its breath as Germany and the Soviet Union began tearing into Poland with heavy artillery, heavy infantry, and air support. We all held our breath to see what would happen next. It has now become apparent that whatever Gleiwitz incident occurred with “Polish” troops firing upon Germans, it was staged by greater motives that wished to soak up Polish independence as soon as possible. It is clear, once again, that we were naïve enough to believe that Hitler would stop at only Czechoslovakia or even Poland.

Germany is on the march again. This time they are moving west. They have quickly taken Norway and Denmark. They penetrated the Maginot Line held by Britain and France in a matter of days. Everyone had predicted another stalemate on trench riddled soil, but it did not and will not happen. British and French troops frantically tried to avoid Hitler’s blood machine known as Blitzkrieg. They have evacuated France.

Hitler has now taken his war a step further - he is mercilessly bombing London and has broken his Nazi-Soviet pact.

Finally, some real answers.

Western Europe is Nazi occupied - Our world is on fire. Germany, there will be blood!

My friends, not three decades later, we have proven that 20 million people died in vain in the Great War. Europe is now embroiled into general war.

Meanwhile, America sleeps. They are rightfully earning their respective 1918 nickname as a society of “Doughboys”. It seems that America cannot quite come to grips with the very real consequences of a Nazi occupied Europe. Our League of Nations was crippled at birth without their “promised” membership.
Is America asleep at the wheel?

Ladies and Gentlemen, what is the next roll of the dice?

Response to Editorial # 2

The Japanese culture is filled with blood, honor, and Brutality. The new dictator, Hideki Tojo, rises from Japanese influence to overthrow, the Japanese Government. He, claims himself as the emperor of Japan. In the recent months, he invaded manchuria, to preserve bushido, the Japanese code of honor. Like Hitler, Tojo is doing what he thinks is right, but to some they might think otherwise. I, on the other hand thinks that he is right. He is preserving his country, and doing so by conquests and campaigns, so that the world will recognize his sovereignty! The code of Bushido states that, "Going into a battle hoping to win; you will surely die, but go into battle hoping to lose and you will surely live." Apparently, Tojo does not want to expand his empire to greatest that he can extend it. The Japanese Imperial Army is one of the world's leading armies, in skill and in numbers. Tojo will get his way force and execution or by diplomacy and negotiations! If the world does not recognize Japan's ambitions, there will be another war, just like how you underestimated Germany.

You are very welcome for the corrections, I know it is not spelling class but if you use good spelling you'll get your points across easier. I am looking at the other side of the world and it is similar to Europe. I'll refer to Europe more because it is closer and has a deeper effect on me.
-spotandscruffy

Picabo,
Blitzkrieg is a tactic, a tactic itself cannot be EVIL. It depends on how you use it. I apologize for the post 1938 reference. America used the Blitz in desert storm. Now was that evil? It is a tactic not an evil.
My question was can a pencil ruin your country? Your response: A sharp one can.
-spotandscruffy

Picabo...

Spot and Scruffy

Thank you For grading my grammar,(last time i checked this wasn't spelling class) if you find what Germany did to Poland bad, why not what Japan has done to China? look at the other side of the world and just your country(Germany)

Spot and Scruffy - seriously?

Spot and Scruffy,

I said that a sharpened pencil a a threat- a small one!!! I never said it could lead a country in to ruin. And fine, Blitzkrieg is a and evil, brutal "tactic" got it? No matter how you put it it is not the right thing to do! All war is brutal but it doesn't have to be this terrible.

Sincerely,

Picabo...

Picabo,
So a sharp pencil can lead you country into economic ruin and civil war? Also, Blitzkrieg is not "evil, brutal war" it is a tactic. The tactic involves motorized infantry, Armor, and Air power. So Blitzkrieg is not evil it's a tactic.
(note: isn't all war brutal?)

FanRemote,
Polish troops fired upon Germans so Germany invaded. It is self defense and no more. I admire the blitzkrieg that the Germans use it is so simple yet so devastating, Focus on one point in the line at let it loose. Hell for the enemy, good for Germany. How will Great Britain and France react? Well I assume that they will want war with Germany because they are allied with Poland. Unless GB and France see the risks with a war with Germany and pull off. I would go with the latter decision.
-spotandscruffy

Pearl Harbor

Pearl Harbor was crippled, when the Japanese planned a suprise attack on December 7, 1941.

Scruffy. . .

Spot and Scruffy,

No matter what anything can be a threat. That pencil could be sharpened and then it could be a threat, correct? Maybe not a very big one, but it is. We should all be worried about everything that could cause a problem no matter how big it is.

Also blitzkrieg is not self defense, it is evil brutal war. I'm not sure any country would stand up to Germans like that especially Poland. I think something is up.

ALERT ALERT - September 1, 1939

FanRemote reports:

It appears that Poland has recently engaged in a small incident the the Red Army and the German army. Witnesses report that the Polish troops were the first to fire on Soviet and German troops. Because of these actions both the Red Army and the German army invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. The Poles were wanting a fight.

Germany is on the March!

They immediately smashed through Polish lines and are destroying Poland. Early reports indicate that citizens are being systematically executed by German soldiers. Women are being tied together with children to save bullets.

Europe has awakened from one nightmare only to encounter the next. What will the responses of England and France dictate?

May God be with our Polish brothers and sisters.

ok then spot/scruffy what about the perspective of those in Manchuria. Japan was clearly a threat to them. And what of those in China? might they be afraid. I think not. Japan = Hero or Villian

Let's get straight to the point; Japan is a Wild Card currently and has , so far, been more of a hero than a villian. This only a fact drawn from what has happened so far. Japan's main tactic is BANZAI, so they aren't necessarily ones who think things over before they act, however, it is their own belief to do things in that sort of style. Their style, althogh very dangerous, has turned out to be very effective. They mainly will just chop you into a trillion pieces, Samarai style, without even thinking about it. Just think... would it be nice to be on the receiving end of that slicing. For such a small country, this Axis power is a very strong, lethal fighting force. They could have a very unpredictable future ahead.

Response to Dick

Hello. Last time that I played a children's game. I did not kill civilians. I did not torture people. I played Duck Duck Goose. Your perspective on evil and villainy, is warped.

~RL

to Spotandscruffy

Sorry for your misunderstanding but the saying of thinking with your military is simply a metaphor for choosing military power and thoughts military related over other thoughts and knowledge. Quite simply what i am trying to say is that if Japan had any common sense they would use their common sense and drop this whole idea of conquest. for if we look to the past and at all of the great conquerors they basically all failed. Alexander the great beat the Persians. The Romans conquered most of Europe but then were somewhat destroyed by the barbarians. Then they became the Byzantine empire and last time i checked they were not on he map either.

Shelwin Brown

Response to editorial 2

I agree with Chairs R cool, the country of Japan and their people are villains. How could you call Japan victorious when they messed up so many families lives and homelands. When they broke the League of Nations they used war to let their anger out. Calm down Japan, I don't want to have to clean up your mess of my people. Talk with the leader instead of random and pointless attacks. That THING is terrible and destructive.
Japan is aggressive, but why. Why do they need war to satisfy? What is your input? What did China do to deserve this? They didn't hurt me, but Japan left a bad taste in my mouth.
League of Nations beef up, don't let some tiny nation step on your importance.

Editorial Response Dos.

Japan, Japan. We need to leave them to what ever they want. If they want to attack Manchuria then so be it. It has not had any horrible outcomes yet, but the minute that Japan becomes involved with European affairs then we are all in trouble. Japan is becoming a world super power and is almost a dictatorship. If they become involved in Europe, they will more than likely take Hitler's side of the conflict. Assuming conflict is to start. I'd like to keep a close eye on the Japs.

~RL

Japan is definitely a villian!

I disagree with Tinkerbell, it is of our concern what Japan is doing and it doesn't matter how far away they are, its no excuse! We don't know why they are attacking the Chinese but we need to figure it out...and FAST. Because right now innocent people in China are being killed brutally for what reason? I do not know why, but Japan has no real reason to be attacking china at this point. This event came as a shock to me because Japan was once a supporting part of the LON. It doesn't make sense why they would suddenly take a turn for the worst and go against the whole world. Maybe it is because they were trying to get a sense of trust from all of the other nations just in time to surprise us with their new plans to take on a greater power. This attack could be a spark on a series of events that could break out into a mess of fighting. I am also concerned that both Germany and Japan have the same desires and ideas. This could lead to a new set of allies that are strong and want to expand to become of greater power. Again we need to stop Germany and Japan before another attack comes. We need to be prepared for the worst...

-Hannah Williams

Note to every one...

Everyone,
People are not good or bad, hero or villain, it is all on perspective. Japan's people believe that they are doing what is good while some look at it with disgust. Hitler is bad to some but good to the German people. Main point: there is perspective, so don't try to argue that yours is better. Because yours is just as equal as your opponents.

Japan:hero or villan? editorial #2

I think that Japan is both a hero and a villan. To me Japan is a hero probably to other countries it is a villan. Japan is a hero to me becase they are helping Germany to take over the world. Together we make a great team! Ican understand why other countries would think that they are completely outrageous and dispicible, but you know those countries just need to deal with it, just like we did when we were being bullied by many other countries. I'm not feeling bad at all that Japan is attacking and torturing people from other countries. I feel this way because I witness this almost everyday since Germany does it also.

Japan is digging a huge hole and can't get out.

Japan is digging a deep hole and is unable to get themselves out. Japan is chopping through China raiding any town in sight. They are using extreme methods of torture to get rid of civilians: heat walks, being chopped to pieces Samurai style, being skinned alive and then salted. Would you like this to happen to you are your family? I know I wouldn’t.
Japan broke their tie from the League of Nations because they only wanted war. They did not want peace. Again, they want more land and they are willing to do anything do get just that. They are creating a bad reputation. Japan is a villain. Anyone who is willing to hurt other living beings for the sake of expansion deserves to be called evil. I have used the word evil because here in this world there are a lot of bad things. There is the mass murder by the Germans and the raids by Japan. Japan is not something to be praised; they are something to be stopped.

Response to editorial #1 (yes, it is late)

I think that Hitler is a great man!!! He is only taking over one country at a time because he wants Germany to be ther better country, which I can totally understand, after world war one completely humiliated Germany in front of all the ohter countries! He is also so wonderful because he is totally dedicated to killing anyone who is trying to stop him! This is great because now we are humiliating them and giving them a taste of their own medicine. I agree with the Daily Mirror, no country should judge Adolf Hitler just because he is more powerful than any other country's leader.

Response to Editorial 2

Japan is always pushing it. They push until they get what they want or get far enough. Technically it is the League of Nations' fault, but Japan goes to the limit. This editorial says that Japan is a mini Germany; evil and greedy. Germany and Japan minipulate the LON and the other countries. So Japan is a villain, like Germany, they kill millions to rescue nothing or no one.

Japan is a very fearless and under estimated country first off. They will take the lives of any of their enemies without second thought. I myself now fear them hearing what they have done to china in some sort of Asian Blitzkrieg. I now think what if they did this to my country... after a while of thinking; i believe they are my enemy. They are fearless crazy people who will stop at nothing to die for their country.
i have to agree with scruffy, this was none of the League of Nations business what Japan is doing. But i do believe this enemy should be stopped before they go to far and start a giant war. We will have to see what happens now because they are a small country with a large and fearless army. If they partner with another large and powerful country and look to throw some blows we could have a big problem on our hands! CONTROL YOUR SELF JAPS

The world is falling to pieces (response to editorial 2)

As I'm sure you all can remember Japan was part of WW1 just like the rest of us. And although they never really set foot on a battlefield they were against Germany and Austria-Hungary with countries such as France, America, Britain, and so on so forth. They also joined the League of Nations along with most of Europe and other countries (aside from America). But just because they fought with us doesn't mean that I will have any sympathy or support for them.

What Japan did and currently is doing is unreasonable, uncalled for, and unforgivable. What justification, if any, do they have for invading Manchuria and mercilessly killing hundreds of people? Now they have their sights set on China and after that who knows what. In a way you could relate it to Germany's current exploits in Europe. Both countries now have dictators, think with their military and less with their minds, and are forming small empires. For all I know Japan may just be looking to impress Germany and become allies with them.

Once again it seems like the League of Nations is doing nothing to help the problem, and in fact may just be making it worse. Europe is heading downhill and people are, and have been, worried that another war may soon be upon us. But unlike WW1 this time there is clearly at least one, if not more, noticeable enemies and Japan is assuming a position towards the top of a list.

In Response to Editorial #2

Japan is a villain! Enough said.

Where does a country that presents itself as a supporting role even think they have the clout to begin striking at civilians and civilization in East Asia? Personally, I am ecstatic about the recent Nazi-Soviet non-aggression pact and I think it will serve the betterment of the Eurasian continent very well. I'm sure that Japan is reeling from concussion as a result of it and I'm not losing sleep over whatever reaction they will have to it. To that same extent, I am sympathetic to those in China who are on the receiving end of Japan's aggression especially since many of those getting the worst of it are simple civilians - women and children. It is simply disgusting. It looks like sole militaristic leadership may not be the key to the success of a nation after all. We will see how the story unfolds from Germany's perspective. However, Adolf Hitler is anxious not only from a militaristic point of view, but also from a socialistic point of view in that he has a vested interest in the people of Germany.

Picabo - I support your points regarding these accusations against Germany's chancellor - he has taken one small bit of territory and he himself even claimed that he only reclaimed the Sudetenland because Czechs were persecuting German-speaking citizens in the first place. Where are people getting this Mass Murder stuff from?

So let's all take a breather and remember that Hitler has only moved into a small new territory over the last 24 months - Not something to lose sleep over. Now that summer's ending and we are encountering a new decade as 1940 comes closer over the horizon, it will be interesting to see how Nazi policy, and Japan's newly inflated self-esteem presents themselves.

WOW!!  I did not want that kind of a reaction. . .

Chairs R Cool- there is no war!!! and there have been no mass murders!!!!!!!!!!

Spot and Scruffy- I have no idea what you mean by that. . . . seriously

I do not support Hitler and his ways! But he has only taken Czechoslovakia, not all of Europe!

Japan a villain?

Editor,
I do believe that what Japan is doing to people is horrible but, no one wants to stop this semi-weak nation. So what is to stop them? I will not judge Japan as a villain because they are doing everything they want with no punishment, so why not? I do see the public executions and believe that they are gruesome and uncalled for but the LoN has no control of them. The LoN is supposed to keep peace in Europe not Asia so it is not within their power to stop the Japanese. The Japanese are growing and are becoming of some interest to Germany. I assume that they will not stop at anything until their Empire is complete, so be weary of this nation.

Chairs R. Cool...

Chairs,
You are right you can't conduct any action to stop anything that Hitler does, so why do you still egg him on? From your standpoint I would be quiet.

Editorial #2 Japan - Hero or Villain?

In the resolution of The Great War in 1918-19, Japan assumed a role of a League of Nations Crutch as it was more of a supporting role as opposed to a headlining role. It felt, as many nations felt after The Great War, that it had not received the appropriate amounts of compensation and reward from being on the side of the victors.
As new lands and boundaries were carved and as incredibly harsh punishments were dealt out to Germany, Japan continued to resign itself to a supportive role of a newly formed League of Nations. In the end, no country on the side of the victors, apart from America, felt satisfied with the results which have obviously brought new tensions throughout the Eurasian region in recent times.
Since, Japan has aggressively re-vamped her policy on military and imperialism. It seems that this small country has the sincere desire to sit at the “Big Dog” table with other major powers.
It is at this point that Japan’s most recent actions in the last 10 years must be examined. In 1931, Japan kicked away her ties to the League of Nation’s by doing nothing less than launching an aggressive invasion of Manchuria, a province of China. This invasion, obviously, did not have the approval of the League of Nations, but no action was taken. Now, Japan is invading China and committing atrocities to soldiers and citizens alike that are unmentionable in a public newspaper. Yet, people aligned with Japan sing her praises for now being among the new roundtable of dictators and military-driven heads of state. I ask you, my loyal readers, is Japan proving to be a hero or a villain in our world today?

Response to update

Editor,
Why do we care that the U.S. is getting more tourists? I don't see how that is something that would make it to a BRITISH newspaper.
One more note: All of you that claim that Hitler is killing millions, HAVE NOT posted any proof about the subject, you just keep on yelling it.

THE DAILY MIRROR - UPDATE

In other news, there has been a recent increase in tourism to the Hawaiian Islands. The United States is boasting about an increase in revenue especially from tourism near their naval base. Apparently, they now don a naval project rivaling many of the nations in Europe.

Pibabo is a Hitler support along with Tink!

Are you kidding me! Hitler is absolutely EVIL! He is mass murdering millions of young lives and we can’t do anything about it!

Picabo!!!

Sorry but Hitler has gone way too far!!! I hate to disagree but it's true. If you call killing millions of Innocent people not taking it too far, than you must not know what is.

chirpchirpbirdie

at what point did i say something about Hitler killing people for fun? The Furher is interested solely in reuniting all of the elements of the Reich.

Shelwin Brown...

Shelwin,
for the League of Nations sake they do need to toughen up, however, you can't just "toughen up" in a few weeks. You can start to build up, but think, Germany had YEARS to build up while LoN has weeks. If you ask me you should of told the LoN to toughen up years to go to actually stand a chance against its German counterpart.

chirpchirpbirdie...

chirpchirpbirdie,
Hitler does not "kill" for fun. First off he doesn't kill innocents, he and I served in the army and the army has a certain code or set of morals. If any one kills someone it is for a reason not just for"fun". Why go to all of the trouble of killing someone just for entertainment. It is much easier to do another activity.

Picabo

Picabo,
I agree with you, you must have a set of objectives and capture them accordingly. You don't want to rush into things if you don't have to.

TinkerBell

Tinker bell,

I am along with you that Hitler is not a very good influence on Germany, but who has he murdered? He has only taken over Czechoslovakia. . . . .

sincerely  ,

Response to breaking news

I believe this as a simple problem but is very peculiar. The uniforms were being guarded correct? Some one could have stolen them from Poland, but i think this is a very suspicious piece of news that shouldn't be ignored.

reply to Spot and Sruffy

Spot and Scruffy,

i realize you have been slamming everyone with your love of Hitler. You have said that a fantasy is a world without war, and it is very true. Hitler has not gone terribly far and i agree he could just be helping Germany but i am afraid of the way Germans try to get things done.  They should let only one war go on at a time.

Sincerely ,

Toughen up League of Nations (response to editorial)

The league of Nations needs to get their act together and grow up if they ever want to suppress Germany. I'm sure we all can remember when Germany captured Czechoslovakia and what did the league did: nothing but a slap on the wrist and a warning. And now that they have chopped Europe into tiny little pieces it makes it even easier for Germany to conquer Europe, that is if they continue their current behavior patterns. In my opinion the League of Nations Needs to act now, act forcefully, and act quickly: the Germans are always getting closer. Instead the League is to much of a coward to do anything because another war they thought that the last war one was the last war for all time. Well guess what, while we were all sitting around in this false sense of security Germany was on the offensive. Building weapons and increasing the size of its military. its no wonder that they are attacking now because no other country even has a military the size of what i can only imagine Germany's army must look like. The league needs to toughen up.

Sincerely
Shelwin Brown

Respone to Chirp.

Yo chirp. Sorry to say, we have no proof that he has murdered anybody? And for fun? Besides being a new leader and assuming control of Czech, he has committed no genocide. I do not support his ethics, but you have no right to call him a murder-er.

Response to Tinkerbell

This shows how supportive you are of Hitler. He MURDERED for fun, just to have all the power. Something is wrong with the way you think! If you truly believe that what he was doing was "good for his people" then you need a head check. He MURDERED MILLIONS of people to save NO ONE!! Get your head checked if you think that Hitler was a hero, because he was definitly a villain, and so are ALL of his followers!!!
