Responce to war update
I told you all that the soviets would find their way out of the predicament they were in, with very unnecessary pressure from the clueless Nazi's. Why would they ever break their alliance from the now re-grouped, and powerful soviets. Who have crawled out of the gutter, and once again have beefed up. I also have to say the desert fox has his tail between its legs and has been trampled by the allies. HA, so much for confident strong Nazi general!(more like desert possum)
To tell you the truth I'm hoping that terrible Hitler, and his mustache are goan. He has goan way too far! And the Allies are doing something quickly about it.

Why should America go to war when it has nothing to do with us? Why is the president sending off thousands of young men to go fight against something that has nothing to do with the U.S? It's not fair! If the world wants to go to war, they can go right ahead. That doesn't mean that all of the nations able men has to go along with the crowd.
All war is bad. Why can't the world be at peace? It seams every time I turn around there is more news about war. War is the stupidest idea EVER!!!
June 1943 – Daily Mirror News Update
The shadow of Axis power that seemed to crawl across the world uncontested is finally shrinking. In January, the Soviet Union was able to finally push the Germans back and reclaim their own city of Stalingrad. Hundreds of thousands of civilians were killed in the siege. While all the Soviets have reclaimed is only now a pile of rubble, ash, and dead loved ones, they have been able to guarantee for the moment that the Nazis will not inch towards their claim to living space in Russia.
Meanwhile, the United States has finally crawled through the grass and maze of Jungle at Guadalcanal. The Americans were sleeping in the mud for months on end and being ambushed from every corner of jungle by banzai chargers. General Douglas MacArthur finally has some degree of retribution for the death marches of Bataan in the Pacific.
Weeks ago, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Winston Churchill met at the Trident Conference. A main topic that was being discussed was the prospective invasion by allied powers of German occupied France. FDR and Churchill have instead elected to invade Italy in its place. Will we ever see a proper go at the Atlantic Wall or will it forever be that unwanted pink elephant in the room? The allies are realizing that even though they have pushed Rommel out of the desert, they will have to pull every inch of German occupied Europe out of the cold , dead fingers of every soldier in their path. It will be a long time before we seen American and British boys heading home.

Response to Editorial #4
I think the allies need to toughen up and not be cowards anymore. The way we have been fighting is obviously not productive enough. The small things that we do to stop them do not add up into one big . . . stopping of the Nazi's. I think the allies should go through with attacking the Atlantic wall; everything else would not be as productive. If we fight the against the Germans along with the Soviet Union we could literally squeeze them back into their own land and keep the Nazi’s from taking over the entire population of Europe and being able to move on to the Americans. And if this recent news about Hitler being assassinated is true, we still have the Nazi’s to worry about. One person gone does not mean an entire war ended. They will not stop. They will find a new leader and keep going. This war cannot be easy to end, the process will be long and hard I believe we can do it with more courage.
Response to editorial 4
I must say that i have experienced the devastation of war. Men are wounded, dying, and many are already dead, but what upsets me most about this is why someone would kill others just to gain greater power. I just don't understand it. Hitler is a sick man who is making some of the worst decisions in history. And all for what? more land and a perfect society. Why would anyone want to be the one responsible for this. I know that I for sure wouldn't. I wouldn't want to live with the guilt everyday of my life. Again I pray that this will all be over soon, especially for all those countries Hitler has taken down and are being tortured.

Do the Americans and British seem to stand a chance in the desert against Rommel? I sincerely doubt it. This is a man who knows the desert and any terrain for that matter, like the back of his hand. Whereas the Americans and Brits have little or no experience using armor in the desert.
Right now, my people are fighting for their existence and this is the one single answer that we have witnessed on a global scale that can even resemble a reasonable answer to Nazi expansion. Praise be to God!

Totally Lost It
And another thing, if the Americans take down the Atlantic Wall, that would be a good decoy to the Germans for the Allies to move in. We could surprise attack them! Which, comrades, is exaclty why we shouldn't move through the desert. If Italy finds out, they could tell Germany to be on gaurd, and that would not be a good vantage point to triumph over them. Shame on the British and Americans!

Editorial #4 America and Britain - On Target or Missing the Point?
In November, the Allied Powers including the United States and France attacked areas in Northern Africa containing both Germany’s AfrikaKorps and troops of Vichy France – those French who decided to sign armistice and “ally” with Germany after France was occupied by the Germans. When the British and Americans encountered the French, there was little to write home about. However, the Germans soon put up a massive fighting force against the allies at locations such as Kasserine Pass. Apparently, the goal is for these allied nations to puncture the “soft underbelly” of Europe to establish a stronghold and begin charging at Nazi Germany’s “empire".
The Daily Mirror’s question is this – Is this operation the be-all/end-all of operations or will it prove to be a pointless venture for the United States and Britain. Our stance is that the allies should not waste time trying to “beat around the bush” of Nazi occupied territory. We need to strike where it matters! - The Atlantic Wall. Our Prime Minister scoffs at the idea and says it’s too risky. Then what, in the name of all things sacred, are we doing having a go at the Germans in the desert?! Why does it even matter? My loyal readers, I want to hear your take!
Are the Allies doing something worthwhile or it is a waste of men and material?

#3, The Next Role
We have thousands, maybe even millions of young men fighting for something that can not easily be stopped. It is not right that Hitler and his evil army are bombing England, we have to at least try stop them. Instead of sending thousands of young men to stop this man, we should compromise and send out hate letters or something. just kidding. We should call all men back home and wait. I think that our men would feel better if they were fighting at home. We should wait until the Germans are caught off guard, then send several bomber planes and bomb them big time. That way we have all of our young men that are fighting safely in planes. Now I'm not saying that planes are safe, I'm saying that you have a better chance of surviving an attack than you would running on foot.
But get real! Major bombing isn't going to happen ant time soon so all I can do is wait and read the news. Wait for all of our young men to hopefully return safely.

I believe Hitler was very childish for breaking the alliance with the Soviets. Now he has two big dogs gunnin for him! He can try to hold the soviets in their own streets, but soon they will re-group, and bit them right back... I now question Hitlers decisions. He already has 90% of Europe, and still wants to make others mad and attack them and go for more! I believe history will repeat its self. 10 years from now Germany will be in another depression, embarrassed and wondering what to do next.

I’ve been far too busy to chat recently but I managed to find some time in order to speak with all of you. We thought that we would be safe; we thought that Germany would stop at Poland or Czechoslovakia, this is not true. No Poland is under Germany's control as is Czechoslovakia, France and most of Europe. French forces have been forced to retreat to London but even here they are not safe. The German Bombers constantly rain terror from the skies.
Now whatever remains of the French Army is here in the United Kingdom or some other country while Germany is parading through France. Something must be done about this. The French Forces should be fighting in France not waiting out the war in some other land. And it sickens me that I can not be on the front lines with my men when instead I’m in some office creating plans about what to do next.
We all know what has become of the Polish uniforms now. They were being worn by Germans in order to make the Poles seem like the bad guys. Firing at the German Army. You have to feel sorry for Poland though, with Russia on one side and Germany on the other, they never stood a chance. Whereas France could have put and England could have put up a larger defense at the Maginot Line it doesn’t matter now, France is gone. Meanwhile America is still not in the war. The world is changing into something else, something unrecognizable. A place were innocent countries are taken over just like the way ancient empires concurred land. WW1 was supposed to be the last conquest by any country but that is clearly false.

In response to the missing citizens of Germany, I don't know why people like Jews and writers are missing, but it is very weird and random. Why these people? Why now? My gut tells me that it has something to do with Adolf Hitler, but it's probably nothing. We should still keep a close eye on this though just in case...
Booboo Rob - I both agree and disagree with you. I agree that men will die going against Hitler and it's scary to think how many may die before he is stopped or if he is stopped. But someone needs to step up and challenge Hitler or else he may not stop until he controls the whole world. If we work together we may have a chance at stopping him and his army. So I am just saying to keep an open mind to the idea of maybe helping other countries in an attempt to stop this war before we suffer more deaths because we did not react right away.

As for the Americans in Africa, kudos to them. They are entering the war and fighting for what they believe in. It is a good thing they are fighting fire with fire. And right now fire is all they can afford. The one problem i have is with the french fighting with the germans? I thought they were against. Well either I have my facts messed up or France needs to make up their mind as to what side to fight for.
Again Kudos to America and i sure hope that britian can pull out of the reckage and step up to fight. And a final word about France, Make up your mind people, seriously.

The Daily Mirror - War Update - November 1942
Right now, British and American soldiers are trying to see if Vichy France’s troops will fire upon our allies in German held North Africa. The British and American soldiers targeted three major beach landings with very few casualties.
Now, the Americans under General Patton are facing off against the Germans and their legendary Erwin Rommel who has a dramatically advantageous understanding of desert combat over the Americans. It will be mere moments before the Americans and British collide for the first time with the Germans in the North African desert. The weight of the world is on their shoulders.
Meanwhile, Britain is still picking up the ashes of their own country after being bombed mercilessly for months on end. British civilian deaths were horrific and the British nation is calling for revenge.
In the East, the Germans are trying to gain what they call Lebenstraum or “living space” by pushing against the Soviet Armies in Stalingrad. Blood is flowing through the streets on both sides as the Russians are frantically trying to reinforce their armies and are sending wave upon wave against German machine gunners. The youth of the Red Army are being cut to bits by the Nazi Killing Machine.
In the Pacific, Americans are approaching a small island in Polynesia – Guadalcanal. This objective seems to be fairly non-threatening, but Americans will find out soon as they begin silent marches through the jungles of the island waiting to find the Japanese. The Americans are officially trying to “island hop” their way back across the Pacific Ocean to keep Imperialist Japan at bay.
The war is intensifying and spreading like a virus.

At first, German policy towards a weak Europe seemed to offer the first source of true strength that we've seen since the times of the old emperors.
America, the Soviets, Japan, Germany, England, Italy, and France are now all at war. The Soviets have been backstabbed by a sham non-aggression pact that only used Soviet strength and numbers to accomplish Nazi plans. The Soviets were used as tools. Now, our people fight on the brink of destruction from the windows and cellars of their own homes. I do believe that Japan has disturbed a sleeping giant in attacking America. They have the support of their larger and more powerful Nazi counterpart, but they lack crucial resources to fuel a war against a nation capable of nearly infinite growth. Unless Germany is capable of using their Blue Water Navy against the United States from the Atlantic theater soon, America will drive Japan out of their pacific islands and Japan will be a nation that pays dearly. They were a nation waiting for the spoils of World War I and have now become a bit too big for their britches.

The author of this article says “Our world is on fire. Germany there will be blood”. Germany is by far the strongest world power ever known to man. The German Fatherland is the center of civilization; Berlin is the capital of the world. Britain and France are stepping stones in our way to victory. The German people are the strongest race and anyone who tries to stand in our way will without a doubt be destroyed.
Let the fat, sleepy, lazy “doughboys” sleep awhile longer. America is a young country; a mere child among nations. I’m sure when their time comes, they will be destroyed too. No one can defeat the Furher.

Great. I would ask:What do the Nazi's want? but that question has practically been answered. They want to literally take over Europe and will possibly run in to the "dough boys" out west. They have gone too far and I'm not gonna sit here and do nothing. I have a feeling that Hitler wants war. He didn't get it from Poland so he is going to move on until he pulls everyone in. The League of Nations really was a bad idea. It wants peace and it will fight to get it? That really doesn't make any sense. Now that Europe is in general war we must protect ourselves and our countries. I will try my best to stop this war and give people information on how to do it as well. Now I must try a lot harder to do it, but I will never give up until I am in a Nazi work camp.

Editorial #3 - From One Nightmare to Another - October_1941
Germany is on the march again. This time they are moving west. They have quickly taken Norway and Denmark. They penetrated the Maginot Line held by Britain and France in a matter of days. Everyone had predicted another stalemate on trench riddled soil, but it did not and will not happen. British and French troops frantically tried to avoid Hitler’s blood machine known as Blitzkrieg. They have evacuated France.
Hitler has now taken his war a step further - he is mercilessly bombing London and has broken his Nazi-Soviet pact.
Finally, some real answers.
Western Europe is Nazi occupied - Our world is on fire. Germany, there will be blood!
My friends, not three decades later, we have proven that 20 million people died in vain in the Great War. Europe is now embroiled into general war.
Meanwhile, America sleeps. They are rightfully earning their respective 1918 nickname as a society of “Doughboys”. It seems that America cannot quite come to grips with the very real consequences of a Nazi occupied Europe. Our League of Nations was crippled at birth without their “promised” membership.

ALERT ALERT - September 1, 1939
It appears that Poland has recently engaged in a small incident the the Red Army and the German army. Witnesses report that the Polish troops were the first to fire on Soviet and German troops. Because of these actions both the Red Army and the German army invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. The Poles were wanting a fight.
Germany is on the March!
They immediately smashed through Polish lines and are destroying Poland. Early reports indicate that citizens are being systematically executed by German soldiers. Women are being tied together with children to save bullets.

Japan broke their tie from the League of Nations because they only wanted war. They did not want peace. Again, they want more land and they are willing to do anything do get just that. They are creating a bad reputation. Japan is a villain. Anyone who is willing to hurt other living beings for the sake of expansion deserves to be called evil. The world is falling to pieces (response to editorial 2)
What Japan did and currently is doing is unreasonable, uncalled for, and unforgivable. What justification, if any, do they have for invading Manchuria and mercilessly killing hundreds of people? Now they have their sights set on China and after that who knows what. In a way you could relate it to Germany's current exploits in Europe. Both countries now have dictators, think with their military and less with their minds, and are forming small empires. For all I know Japan may just be looking to impress Germany and become allies with them.
Once again it seems like the League of Nations is doing nothing to help the problem, and in fact may just be making it worse. Europe is heading downhill and people are, and have been, worried that another war may soon be upon us. But unlike WW1 this time there is clearly at least one, if not more, noticeable enemies and Japan is assuming a position towards the top of a list.

Where does a country that presents itself as a supporting role even think they have the clout to begin striking at civilians and civilization in East Asia? Personally, I am ecstatic about the recent Nazi-Soviet non-aggression pact and I think it will serve the betterment of the Eurasian continent very well. I'm sure that Japan is reeling from concussion as a result of it and I'm not losing sleep over whatever reaction they will have to it. To that same extent, I am sympathetic to those in China who are on the receiving end of Japan's aggression especially since many of those getting the worst of it are simple civilians - women and children. It is simply disgusting. It looks like sole militaristic leadership may not be the key to the success of a nation after all. We will see how the story unfolds from Germany's perspective. However, Adolf Hitler is anxious not only from a militaristic point of view, but also from a socialistic point of view in that he has a vested interest in the people of Germany.
Picabo - I support your points regarding these accusations against Germany's chancellor - he has taken one small bit of territory and he himself even claimed that he only reclaimed the Sudetenland because Czechs were persecuting German-speaking citizens in the first place. Where are people getting this Mass Murder stuff from?
So let's all take a breather and remember that Hitler has only moved into a small new territory over the last 24 months - Not something to lose sleep over. Now that summer's ending and we are encountering a new decade as 1940 comes closer over the horizon, it will be interesting to see how Nazi policy, and Japan's newly inflated self-esteem presents themselves.
Japan a villain?

Editorial #2 Japan - Hero or Villain?
As new lands and boundaries were carved and as incredibly harsh punishments were dealt out to Germany, Japan continued to resign itself to a supportive role of a newly formed League of Nations. In the end, no country on the side of the victors, apart from America, felt satisfied with the results which have obviously brought new tensions throughout the Eurasian region in recent times.
Since, Japan has aggressively re-vamped her policy on military and imperialism. It seems that this small country has the sincere desire to sit at the “Big Dog” table with other major powers.
It is at this point that Japan’s most recent actions in the last 10 years must be examined. In 1931, Japan kicked away her ties to the League of Nation’s by doing nothing less than launching an aggressive invasion of Manchuria, a province of China. This invasion, obviously, did not have the approval of the League of Nations, but no action was taken. Now, Japan is invading China and committing atrocities to soldiers and citizens alike that are unmentionable in a public newspaper. Yet, people aligned with Japan sing her praises for now being among the new roundtable of dictators and military-driven heads of state. I ask you, my loyal readers, is Japan proving to be a hero or a villain in our world today?
